This personalized approach ensures that you don't just achieve a temporary glow—you gain the tools and knowledge to stay clear for good.

How Does It Work?

The Acne Clearing Program at Complexions by Misty follows a structured three-step process designed to achieve clear skin in as little as 8 weeks:

  • Consultation: A detailed skin analysis is performed to identify your specific skin and acne type, as well as your sensitivity level. This step also includes a review of your lifestyle, including diet and skin habits.

  • Products: You are required to use a customized home care regimen. These products typically last 2–4 months and come with a specific guideline to ensure effective results.

  • Treatment: In-clinic sessions occur every 2–4 weeks. Depending on your skin's current state, treatments may include enzyme or chemical peels. During these visits, your at-home product routine is adjusted to match your progress.

Why Do I Have Acne?

More than 60 million Americans suffer from some form of acne breakouts. Statistics show that acne affects more than

80% of all teenagers at some point in their lives, and clogged pores account for over 25% of all visits to the dermatologist.

What is Acne in Bakersfield California?

What is Acne?

Acne is an inherited disorder of the pore that begins during puberty as oil glands start to mature. While a typical pore sheds approximately one layer of dead skin cells each day, an individual with this disorder can shed as many as five layers in the same timeframe. When this excessive accumulation of dead skin cells mixes with natural oils, it forms a plug within the pore, marking the initial stage of all acne development. This biological process, known as "retention hyperkeratosis," creates underlying congestion that manifests as non-inflamed acne lesions, such as blackheads and whiteheads. If bacteria become trapped within these clogged pores, the condition progresses further, resulting in the formation of inflamed pimples, pustules, and cysts.
